Hawks take out the Saints
This was a game to remember, nobody except for the city and people of Seattle believe that the Hawks can win the wild card game against the New Orleans Saints. Yes it was a shoot out between Matt Hasselbeck and Drew Brees but it was Marshawn Lynch incredible 6 miss tackle run that sealed the deal and delivered the knock out blow to the champs. Matt had a game that people will never forget. Even though the first quarter was rough being down 10-0 and Matt throwing a pick on his third passing attempt I still had the feeling that this game was not over. Sitting at the Diamond Knot Brewery with all my fellow Hawks Fan we believed that this team will recovery and make a game out of the mistakes. At the amaze of the crowd chatting lets go Hawks Matt throws a beauty of a pass to John Carlson for the first Hawks touchdown of the game and the game was on. It was a classic back and forth by both teams. Brees kept the Saints in line to win but the defense showed up and held up their end of the game. Matt finished the game with a franchise record 4 touchdowns and Lynch with a playoff record long of a 67 yard touchdown run that will be remembered for a long time. Every fan at the game or watching it at home or a bar believed this game was not over until the referee blew his whistle. Everybody cheered and toasted their beer to the Hawks on a night when the national media believed the Hawks didn't belong in the playoffs. I'm glad that Matt had a good game along with John Carlson and Marshawn Lynch. Carlson has been a player that has not been used a whole lot this season but I'm happy that he had a game like this. Everybody did their part to get us the fans the most exciting moments of the year. Now it is on to Chicago to take on the Bears a team the Hawks have beaten earlier in the season. I pray that the Hawks will go into this game with the mind set that this is a whole new team since they beat them. The Hawks have no pressure on them unlike the Bears because the Hawks were not expected to be in the playoffs. Pete Carroll did a tremendous job of getting the team ready and executing a great game plan. Lets Go HAWKS. Lets beat the Bears and move on towards the big game.

Hot Damn! This is one game I really was ok with them not winning. Not to be a nay-sayer, but we had a snowball's chance in hell. BUT, we did it. We upset the defending Super Bowl champs and did it in fine fashion. It was a fantastic game and proved that anything can happen in the NFL. Along with that, us winning shut up all the whining about a losing team going into the playoffs. It shows that the system works just fine. It also shows, that nobody should every count out the west coast. Fuck all those jackasses that hate on our division. Once again a west coast team is in the playoffs and advancing. Kind of makes you disbelieve in regular season records. And it absolutely makes me believe in the NFL rules and regs. Yea, we are an oddity. There were lots of other teams that deserved playoff spots, but that is neither here nor there. Win your division and you're in... nuff said!
ReplyDeleteI really liked watching the game from the aspect of going blow for blow with the saints. I was a little upset with that whole field goal fiasco. But all in all, we played a tough game. And once again I am going to tout that it was the running game that set it all in motion. Finally Carlson got into the game too. That first TD was the best acting job I've seen on tv in a long time. He totally sold that and there he was in the enzone all by himself. Awesome! Just awesome! I kept thinking about how these guys were all rising to the occasion and about how the playoffs bring out the best in everone. Am so glad we won. And am so glad that we did it in a way that stuffs a sock into all the eastcoast biased reporter mouths. Love it! Go Seahawks! The big show is on the horizon. I got a special cigar just waiting to be smoked! LOL
